Okay Sweat-ers, and you know who you are, I have some finds for you! Whether you suffer from Hyperhidrosis or Anhidrosis or plain ‘ole everyday hot flashes, excessive heat is uncomfortable. Take a peek at what’s helping us keep our cool;
Clothing – Artic Cove has the goods, their shirts are made from a new material that is activated with moisture – sweat or water. Feeling cooler is the best way to – well, feel cooler. Now there is a fabric that will help us do that. Check out their line and see how it works for you – www.arcticcove.com
Sunscreen – Spray on is the way to go. Even still, wearing some brands can feel like you’re wrapped in plastic wrap. The Honest Company formulated a mineral-based spray that dries quickly and doesn’t leave a greasy feel. This is my new go-to and you can find it at www.honest.com
Seat Covers – If you are not a fan of getting wet to avoid a nice soaking sweat, then Chilly Cheeks is your answer. Chilly Cheeks Seats are portable seat covers that are easy to use and last for hours. Cooling from the bottom up cools the largest muscles in the body to help you stay and feel cool for a good long time. Stop sweating before you start! Right now you can score a 10% discount off your first Chilly Cheeks purchase here: www.chillycheeks.com
Cooling Towels – Lots of personal use with this one and still a favorite – the Original Chilly Pad from Frogg Toggs. Just get it wet and go. It is easily revived with another rinse in warm or cold water and when wrapped around your neck, it’s pretty darn nice. www.froggtoggs.com
Hats – Like the cooling towels, there are several good bands on the market. Using the same principles as newer versions of athletic ware and cooling shirts, Mission’s Endura Cool hat keeps the sun off your head and provides cool relief in the process. www.mission.com
According to Webmd.com, For the 2% to 3% of the population who have hyperhidrosis, the sweat glands don’t shut off. They sweat even when the circumstances don’t call for it: when they’re in air conditioning, or while they’re sitting and watching television. Some people even tell their doctors that they sweat in a swimming pool. This tip doesn’t come with a website but worth the trip to your Dermatologist. Your regular MD won’t but a reputable dermatologist can prescribe something to minimize the sweat. Be bold and ask.
